lansing. the very capital of michigan. the days are cold during winter and they may warm up during summer. but that doesn't mean the citizens are any better at all. because they are brutally colder than any weather could reach. even at its lowest point. but that can only mean you have to step up your game. but keep hush hush, because there's eyes all around keeping an eye on your business and letting everyone in on it.

registration.
when registering, sign up with a username that won't be offensive. and after you get it made, please be sure to change the name to either first, middle, last. or first and last name. but nothing stupid, right? and if you're asked to change your name for whatever reasons, do it. do not post anywhere, not even the claims, until you are accepted. the only exceptions to this rule happens to be the out of character area. but even then you can't post in the request area. not until you are accepted onto the site. if there is a staff member on the site, you may politely ask them to check over your application. if they request you expand on something, do so. do not complain. because that could be time you wasted when you could have been working on your app and having it accepted quicker.
application and claims
if a claim is forbidden, taken, or reserved; don't touch it or you will be in trouble. unless the character is inactive or the person has not been on in a while, you may then claim the portrayer. but only then. let them be gone for a month before trying to claim them. and also, make sure they did not post in the absences. if someone takes your claim, you may not have it back unless it is on the list that the celeb claim still belongs to you. because it's unfair if someone wants your celeb claim and you go absent without a warning, then come back after they get it only to yell. and then you don't post and the process happens again. make sure you qualify for your claims. students from the high school may only have dorms and they have to have roommates. and only citizens / adults may have apartments or homes. and fill out the whole codes then leave them in code or else we'll just delete your claim and you'll have to do it all over... again.
general role playing
when you start out, if you don't know who to ask a role play from, just post in the thread requests. someone should be nice enough to take up your offer and trust me, a lot of people here wouldn't mind threading with you. almost everyone has a thread with eachother and posts back quickly. DRAMA IS ENCOURAGED. that's why we have a gossip column. to have drama. and tons of it. that's what keeps sites running. so if you have a plot with drama. don't hesitate to ask people to be in it. when it comes to replying, this is an intermediate site. so we're expecting at least one or two paragraphs for an intro post. but for all others, we'd rather you match the other person to a t, got it? if you can't match them up, start describing the surroundings. use the five senses, etc. it's real easy. do not godmode or anything. at all. it's a common courtesy rule, but don't. that means you can't control the other character. positively annoying, really. don't be a mary sue or gary stu. everyone has their flaws and no one's a perfect princess. what proves it happens to be that perfect people would be annoying. therefore no one can be perfect. you just have to figure out their flaw.
graphics and requests and misc.
please nothing icky on sigs or avs or any pictures you show on this site. last thing i would want to see after eating would be boobs. or anything similar. just gross. don't make the board stretch too much. sig limit width is 500. well. image of any sort is 500 width limit. if it doesn't fit, stick a link instead. it works better that way and makes everything convenient. when requesting graphics, please give the person time to do it. not only do they have a life, but most likely they have other things on this site to do. if any of your requests haven't been taken up within a week of the last post, you may bump. otherwise leave it be and let other people have a chance to have their requests looked at.
general hospitality
be nice to the fellow members. that's usually another given. if you're going to argue, do not argue on the cbox or in the boards. let an admin know and we will try to handle it. but if you'd rather keep it hush, hush. take it to pm. when people argue, it makes the board look unpleasant. try and be active. if you're not, you lose a bunch of stuff. all your claims and you'll have your stuff moved to the deleted apps boards. have respect for the board. don't steal any graphics you see without permission. if you do, there will be some huge problems between the board and yourself.
