lansing. the very capital of michigan. the days are cold during winter and they may warm up during summer. but that doesn't mean the citizens are any better at all. because they are brutally colder than any weather could reach. even at its lowest point. but that can only mean you have to step up your game. but keep hush hush, because there's eyes all around keeping an eye on your business and letting everyone in on it.

talking myself out of this ; * KEAGUN
« Thread Started on Feb 19, 2008, 2:18am »

She hadn't really been looking forward to this day, and she didn't know what to expect of it. Was there going to be a large amount of people present? Or was it going to be some small kind of thing where there was going to be those he only really knew well? Either way, Alexandra had been betting on it being a larger gathering seeing as they had barely known eachother and she was invited. It didn't matter. She was kind enough to show up, either way. And that was a huge thing; she didn't like parties at all. There was something about him, though, that grabbed her attention and everything. Alexandra was wanting to figure out exactly what that was.

Walking up to the door to his apartment, she just rapped on it gently and stepped back with her arms down. She didn't know exactly what Keagun liked so she had figured on getting him money for his birthday. Who wouldn't mind receiving that? Especially since it was just a little over a hundred dollars. But she was worried that he was one of the kind of guys who wouldn't dare accept a dollar. No matter the scenario and such. She had been so worried about what she was supposed to get him. But that worry had once again vanished when she thought about who was probably going to be here. All new people she had never met.

Several more seconds went by before she became chilly and rather impatient. All Alexandra could believe is the warmth that was probably going to be inside. Maybe it wasn't so bad if there were a lot more people. It would be warmer, that would mean. And if it was warmer. Well... the more, the merrier! But her thoughts wouldn't let her rest until she went back to her normal thought processes. Which were mainly about Keagun. She had to figure out why exactly she had been thinking so much about him. He didn't seem all that intriguing. But there definitely was something about him she was going to figure out sooner or later.

[ o o c ; eep. sorry for the shortness. i'm in a hurry and i thought this would be easier to reply to... except for the shortness part of it. aha. ]

Sitting on his couch, twelve of his friends were scattered around his apartment, talking up a storm. One of the boys was already drunk. Keagun rolled his eyes, observing everyone, not really talking a whole lot. Instead, he awaited the arrival of someone whom he just couldn't get off his mind as of late. Ever since he had met her, he couldn't stop thinking about Alexandra. What was it about her? Come on birthday boy, come get a drink! We brought a bunch of stuff because we didn't know what you like, one of his friends said. "Yeah, alright," he agreed, getting off the couch, he went into the kitchen where there was all sorts of liquor on the counter. "What the hell did you think this was going to be? It's my twentieth birthday, not my twenty-first." he said, laughing a bit. Taking a shot, he downed it in seconds, then set it back on the counter. One more, his friend urged. "Not right now, maybe later," Keagun said.

Having walked away from the new bar that was in his kitchen, he checked the table to make sure there was enough food out. His birthday cake was still intact. It was rather simple, just a 'Happy 20th Birthday Keagun!' was written on it. He had spent his actual birthday with his family, and his brother and sisters had put together pictures of the family then framed it, which was now on his living room wall. His mother had bought him clothes, and for once, ones that he would actually wear. In fact, he was wearing one of the outfits now. It was jeans and black t-shirt, but it fit him nicely and he looked good in it.

Another one of his friends turned on the stereo he had in his living room, making it nearly impossible for him to even hear himself think. "Guys, you have to turn it down, I live in an apartment, there are people on either side of me," he told them, turning the music down a little. There was an assortment of males and females that were there, and it seemed like a few more had arrived. Hearing a knock at the door, he walked around a couple people then opened it.

"Alexandra, you came!" he exclaimed, rather surprised that she had shown up. He really hadn't been sure whether she would or not, but he had been praying that she would. "It's really busy in here," he stated, stepping away from the doorway so she could come in. "There's food and drinks in the kitchen, come on, I'll show you," Keagun said, barely able to contain a grin that so wanted to cross his face at the moment. He wanted to hug Alexandra, but he refrained from doing that as well. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable...she probably already would be, seeing as there were so many people around.

The second he had opened the door, she was trying to look past him. Just to see how many people had really shown up to this party. Alexandra wasn't knowing what all to expect. But then it all seemed to become reality (the fear, that is.) when she seen all the people scattered around. Her heart felt like it was now racing. That could not be good at all. But she kept her cool and nodded at him in some kind of greeting. She couldn't speak at all. And it wasn't only because of Keagun. But all those people. Couldn't they have all just... Well, she didn't know. But she wished that somehow they weren't all making her nervous. That was when she heard some words from him that merely brought her up in spirits. He had mentioned drinks, so quickly her attention was snapped right to him.

"Hey, Keagun. What kinds of drinks?" She said quickly, looking at him with one of the most demanding questions. If she had something in her system, she would gladly be able to just be.. calm. Maybe only the drinks had done it, but she wouldn't call it a problem at all. Wasn't like it could go any further, could it? Well. Time could tell. Taking one last look outside as if something exciting was to pop out of nowhere, she had just stepped right inside once more with a content smile. At least she would call it a content smile. To the outside world it happened to be just half of a smile.

"Because right now, it would sound pretty good. Get me out of feeling so freaked out." She muttered, stepping a bit more inside and grabbing his arm gently. It was in the manner of her saying 'lead the way.' Because she had never been in his apartment before this, and was glad to just follow him around for a bit as long as he wasn't going to tell her what to do or where to go. She was feeling good about tonight. Just because she knew she'd have the alcohol in her, more than likely. It always turned out better that way. When someone had something to keep them calm.

"Well, a couple of my friends in there turned my counter into a bar, so pretty much anything you'd like," he said, looking around his apartment. Who were some of these people? There was a handful of people around that he'd never seen before in his life. Keagun had a feeling that the party was going to get out of hand. Hearing what she said next, but only barely, he nodded. "Sure thing, just follow me," he said, his eyes widened slightly when she took his arm. "You know what the funny thing is?" he asked, weaving his way through the living room. "I don't even know some of these people. I think people brought other people," Keagun said, biting down on his lip. He didn't want to get in trouble with the landlord or his neighbors. But, he had turned the music down, so perhaps that'd help. If not, he'd just have to speak up or end the party early. Whatever, he'd deal with it later.

Getting to the kitchen, he motioned to where the drinks were. "Right there," he said. "Then there's food over there, and the cake is on the table," the male added. Looking at her, he couldn't help but note how great she looked. He felt his heart skip a couple of beats, then quickly looked away. There was no way she'd be interested in him, right? Then again, she had come to the party, even though he had highly doubted that she would. But that didn't necessarily mean anything. Besides, he didn't even know her that well. He attempted to shake the thoughts from his mind, with no success.

Pouring a shot of vodka, he downed it rather fast, then shuddered slightly at the feeling that ran throughout his body. The people out in the living room were turning up the stereo again, he knew that the landlord was going to have a talk with him the next day. Despite the shot of vodka he had taken, plus the one that his friends had forced him to take, it didn't seem to be enough. Getting a bigger glass, a friend filled it up with some sort of drink. "What is this?" he questioned the friend. He couldn't hear the reply over the music and talking. Shrugging, he took a drink anyway. Whatever it was, it tasted pretty good. Keagun made his way back over to Alexandra. "I'm sorry it's so crazy here, I wasn't expecting anything like this," he said.
